MISSIONS

Mission ministries has long been a great priority in the life of the congregation here at Manchester First.  This sentiment is even expressed our vision statement: "As followers of Jesus, led by the Holy Spirit, we step boldly out of our comfort zones so we can grow deeper in our faith, feed the hungry both body and soul;  provide worship and spiritual growth opportunities; promote truth and justice and always value others over ourselves so together we can grow in Christ."  Manchester First has a missions budget which is completely separate from our church's operating budget.  We support many local, regional, national and international mission projects

  • UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

Our church has two circles; the Sallie O'Neal Circle meets on the 3rd Monday in the evening at member's homes.  The Day Circle meets on the 4th Tuesday in the church parlor, at 10:00 a.m., with a Dutch treat lunch to follow at a local restaurant, for those who are interested.  Both circles have outings at least once a year, planned by the members.  We are supportive of local, regional, state, national, and global ministries.  There is a program prepared by a member of the circle each month.  We also do mission studies with other churches in our district once a year.  Every woman, no matter your age, is welcome!.

  • UNITED METHODIST MEN

The 2008 United Methodist Book of Discipline charges the General Commission on United Methodist Men with the “primary oversight for the coordination and resourcing of men’s ministry with The United Methodist Church.”  (from The General Commission on United Methodist Men's Website).  The Manchester First United Methodist Men specializes in mission projects, including local projects.  The men also cook some GREAT BBQ chicken every year in the fall at the church's annual church-wide picnic!  For information about when the UMM group meets call the church office or check the Midweek Visitor newsletter!
